Start planning your summer vacation now, because this program is only available for a three-month window (May 21 – Sept 5, 2022)
When’s the last time you’ve been to a museum? It’s actually a lot of fun. So here’s your chance to get out of your regular routine of watching a movie, going out to eat, or hanging around at home. Do something different and go to a museum!
Blue Star Museums Program – Free Museum Admission for Military Members & Families
Blue Star Museums is a military-friendly program that gives FREE entrance to over 2,000 museums, art centers, exhibits, children’s museums, art museums, history and science museums, zoos, and nature centers. You can find participating museums at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.
Some of these museums cost over $30 per person, so this can save you hundreds if attending as a family since family members get in free to most locations as well. As always, bring a form of Military ID.
Who can get in?
All active duty, Reserves, National Guard, and their families. Although it doesn’t mention veterans, some museums do extend this offer to veterans and retirees. Be sure to call ahead to verify this offer is available for you.
When is this offer available?
This year, the Blue Star Museums program is available from Armed Forces Day (MAY 21, 2022) to Labor Day (SEPT 5, 2022).
That gives you about 3 and a half months, and the entire summer, to plan the perfect summer vacation!
Where can I learn more?
