Phoenix Sky Harbor USO

The Phoenix USO is one of my favorites.

Here's why:

  • Out of all the USO's I've been to, this one has the most free stuff. LOTS of food, lots of candy, lots of drinks, not to mention toiletry items, keepsakes and other random misc. stuff
  • The USO workers are SO friendly and helpful
  • Lots of space, I've never felt crammed like I sometimes do at other USO's. I've visited about 5 times and I'm always pretty much the only one there.
  • Brand new!

$100 Gift Card Opportunity for those recently returned from Afghanistan or Iraq

This is a cool opportunity to help in a very important study and get reimbursed for it. Basically they want to learn more about deployments so that they aren't as difficult on the relationships of soldiers and their spouses. It is funded by the DoD and the reimbursement for taking the survey is $50 per person ($100 per couple)

COSTCO now offering FREE Military day pass also!

**COSTCO UPDATE** (Oct 5)
  • Costco's should now be honoring free Military passes during the government shutdown.
  • I spoke with the general manager of Arizona stores and she said that Costco HQ have notified all stores nationally that this offer should be honored everywhere. Some people are still saying that their store has no idea about this so it would be a good idea to call first because you go there. (Thanks BJ)
  • Find the nearest Costco location by visiting Costco.com/WarehouseLocator
  • If they have not heard of this, have them put you on hold and let them call the Corporate office to verify. Then you come into the store with your military ID card and ask for a shopping pass. They call it a 99. (Thanks Patty)
  • MUST bring Military ID or past ID for veterans
